Telus Garden Office Tower | Vancouver, BC
This phase of the UI upgrade package shows live building data as it responds to solar gain throughout the day. Inherent with glass curtain buildings in the downtown core, north and east profiles of the office tower present unique challenges when it comes to occupant comfort in big, open-plan workspaces. My attempt to represent each perimeter segment on every floor accurately involved mapping out each thermostat and fan cluster (Jaga fans) and juxtaposing it with the mixing valve (6-way) operation. This provides an accurate understanding in the event of occupant discomfort during anytime of the day. Live value queries are triggered by mouseover and click actions, and data delivery speed is dependent on controller polling policies - this meant making sure perimeter-related data points are polled more frequently than the rest of the building data.
Building elevations were extracted from construction documents and equipment locations required a complete survey of all building spaces. Front end dev and UI design by AC.
